How we interpret the forecast

Swell, period, and direction
We don't just look at total height. The period greatly changes the energy, and the direction determines how much useful swell actually enters El Palmar.

Wind
East/Northeast winds (Levante) usually bring an offshore component; West/Southwest winds (Poniente), onshore or cross-onshore. Intensity matters as much as direction.

Tide
We show high tide and low tide as a reference, not as a "good time." Sandbanks change, and the same tide does not behave the same every day.

About the data we use

This tool is based on publicly available meteorological and oceanographic forecast data or through generally accessible forecast services.

We do not use confidential, private information, or data about sandbanks, peaks, or secret locations. The interpretation we show is limited to the general conditions predicted for El Palmar.

Carving's added value is not in "discovering" hidden data, but in translating available information into a comprehensible reading according to your level.
