Carving Social Club: Our Story

From seeking the perfect wave on the streets of Madrid to creating our training spot by the sea in El Palmar. In 2011, we embarked on our adventure with the goal of bringing surfing and its techniques to those living far from the coast. Soon after, we started organizing our first surf camps and trips, building a community of surfers who wanted to learn, progress, and share the experience both in and out of the water.

For over a decade, we have developed our own approach to teaching surfing, combining practice in the water, technical analysis, surfskate, and a methodology based on truly understanding how movement on a wave works.

More than a decade creating surf experiences

What started in Madrid evolved into a community linked to surfing and surfskating with training, biomechanics workshops, trips, and surf camps in various destinations across Spain and Morocco.

In 2022, we took the next step: we moved our base south and created our own Surfhouse in El Palmar, Cádiz. We wanted to be where everything truly happens: near the ocean, with space to live, train, and calmly analyze each session.

A methodology that combines water, video, and training

The Surfhouse allows us to bring together three elements that we consider fundamental for progressing in surfing: hours in the water, technical analysis, and specific off-water training.

That's why our experiences are not limited to just getting in the water and catching waves. We record sessions, analyze movements, and use surfskate as a tool to work on aspects such as posture, rotation, weight transfer, and the fluidity of turns.

The incorporation of Miguel Rodríguez: a new level of technical specialization

With the addition of Miguel Rodríguez, we have taken another step forward in our training offerings. His experience as a former competitor and a coach specializing in technical development allows us to delve even deeper into the technical aspects of surfing.

Miguel brings a perspective especially focused on performance, biomechanics, and correcting the details that make a difference when a surfer wants to break through plateaus and continue progressing.

His incorporation has enabled the development of our Technical Surf Camp programs, designed for surfers who already have autonomy in the water and want to work on specific aspects of their surfing: board positioning, wave reading, speed generation, turns, paddling, and decision-making.

The combination of our experience organizing surf camps since 2011 with Miguel's technical expertise allows us to offer a more comprehensive proposal: learn, practice, analyze, and return to the water with a specific correction to apply.

Clear pedagogy and visual learning

If you got to know us through our surfskate content and tutorials, you've probably already seen our way of explaining things. We aim for technique to be understandable and applicable, avoiding unnecessarily complicating concepts.

This same philosophy is present today in our surf camps and training sessions. Video analysis allows us to see what actually happens during a wave and work on specific images, while surfskate enables us to repeat certain movements out of the water.

El Palmar: our definitive base

We chose El Palmar because we wanted to build more than just a place to sleep. Our Surfhouse is about 900 meters from the beach and is designed to combine surfing, relaxation, community, and training.

During the season from September to May, we take advantage of the Atlantic surf conditions and the calmer atmosphere of the Cadiz coast to run our multi-day experiences.

The private estate features a pool, relaxation areas, an equipped kitchen, secure parking, and spaces dedicated to training. Everything is designed so you can forget about logistics and focus on enjoying and progressing.

What we seek in every experience

• Small groups: We work with a maximum of 10 people in our surf camps to maintain a close atmosphere and provide individual attention to each participant.
• Real learning: It's not just about accumulating hours in the water, but about understanding what you're doing and what you can improve.
• Video analysis: We use imagery as a tool to detect details that are often difficult to perceive while surfing.
• Surfskate and dry-land training: We use off-water training to reinforce specific movements and sensations.
• Experience and technical specialization: Carving Social Club's history of organizing surf camps now combines with Miguel Rodríguez's technical expertise to offer different levels of training.
• Community: We create groups of adults who come to surf, learn, and share a few days in a calm and friendly environment.

A community that continues to grow

More than a decade after our first training sessions and surf camps, we still have the same obsession: finding better ways to help people enjoy and progress in surfing.

Today, that philosophy has its place in El Palmar, where we combine our experience, Miguel Rodríguez's technical specialization, video analysis, surfskate, and communal living at the Surfhouse.
