Some parts of surfing are understood differently when you can share them with someone who has spent years living it at professional level. In our Celebrity Surfcamps we invite professional surfers to El Palmar for a few days centred around surfing, sharing sessions and bringing their experience in and out of the water closer to the group.

This is not about coming to watch someone else surf. The idea is to have the guest surfer close by, be able to ask questions, hear how they read the sea and understand what lies behind decisions that often look automatic from the outside.

These are adult editions, with small groups and a programme that changes according to the guest surfer.

Closer than what you normally see from the outside

A competition, video or photograph shows the result. Here we are also interested in everything that comes before it: how a surfer reads a wave, where they choose to position themselves, what they observe before paddling out, how they approach a session or what they have learned after years of surfing.

During the Surfcamp we combine time in the water with opportunities to talk, ask questions and learn directly from the guest. Each surfer brings a different perspective, and that is a major part of the value of these editions.

Surfers who have joined Carving

In different editions we have had the opportunity to share the Surfcamp with surfers such as:

  • Ariane Ochoa: professional surfer with a long competitive career and experience on the international circuit.
  • Dani Aznar: surfer with extensive experience in competition and training, with a strong focus on technique and performance in the water.

The guests change from one edition to another, so each Celebrity Surfcamp has its own personality.

Sharing the water also changes how you learn

During the sessions you can observe closely how the guest positions themselves, what they look at before taking a wave and how they read each situation in the water. Afterwards there is time to discuss the session, ask questions and bring some of that experience into your own surfing.

We also use familiar Carving tools such as video analysis or Surfskate when they help explain something that happened during the sessions. But the main focus of these editions is the direct exchange with the guest surfer.

Sharing the Surfhouse with the guest surfer

One of the major differences in these editions is that the professional does not simply come to run an activity and leave. With the accommodation option, the guest shares the Surfhouse and day-to-day life with the group: breakfasts, time between sessions, conversations after surfing and many of those informal moments when the best questions come up.

Living for several days with a surfer at this level gives you a rare chance to hear first-hand about their experiences, travel, competition, training, decisions in the water and the way they built their career. It is an unusual opportunity to get closer to the everyday, human side of someone you would normally only see surfing, competing or on a screen.

What happens outside the water

A lot of the interesting part appears once the session is over. Conversations at the Surfhouse, a quieter talk, questions from the group or hearing stories about travel, competition and years in surfing reveal a side that usually does not appear in videos.

If you choose the accommodation option, you stay at our Surfhouse in El Palmar, which becomes the group's meeting point between sessions and activities.

No two editions are exactly the same

The content changes according to the guest surfer. Their career, surfing style and what makes the most sense to share with the group all shape each edition.

That is why we publish the dates and guest when each new Celebrity Surfcamp is confirmed. Places are limited to keep the format close and make sure there is genuinely time to share with the guest professional.

After booking

Approximately one week before the Surfcamp, we create the WhatsApp group. We ask you about your experience in the water, share the program for the edition, and start organizing groups by level.

In the days leading up to it, we monitor the wave forecast, swell period, wind, and tides to choose the best times and surf spots that fit the conditions.

The program may be adjusted if the sea changes or if an activity needs to be adapted, but by the time you arrive at El Palmar, a good part of the weekend is already prepared.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation more than 30 days in advance: 100% refund.

Cancellation between 15 and 30 days in advance: 50% refund.

Cancellation less than 15 days in advance: no refund.

If you cannot attend, you can transfer your place to another person. When possible, we may also consider leaving the amount as credit for a future date.

The programme may be changed or rescheduled if sea conditions do not allow the activities to be carried out safely.

If Carving Social Club cancels the Surf Camp, you can choose between a 100% refund of the amount paid or an alternative that you expressly accept.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be an advanced surfer?
No. We organise the sessions by level so each participant can work from where they are. You do not need to surf at the invited professional's level to get value from the Surf Camp.

Can I come on my own?
Yes. It is common for part of the group to arrive without knowing the others beforehand.

Does the professional surfer teach the lessons?
The invited professional takes part at different moments during the Surf Camp and shares sessions, analysis, conversations and activities with the group according to each edition's programme. The surf lessons and organisation in the water are carried out together with the Carving team.

Can I book without accommodation?
Yes. When an edition offers that option, you can select it directly in the booking selector.

What accommodation is included?
Options with accommodation include the stay at our Surfhouse. We have shared rooms and one double room, which has priority for couples and is assigned subject to availability.

Which meals are included?
For bookings with accommodation, breakfasts during the stay are included. The Saturday barbecue is also part of the Surf Camp programme.

Is surf equipment included?
Yes. Surfboard, wetsuit and rash guard are included during the activities and Free Surf sessions.

Does every Celebrity Surf Camp have the same programme?
Not exactly. We keep the main Surf Camp structure, but adapt part of the content to the background, experience and way of understanding surfing of each edition's guest.

How do you organise the groups and schedules?
Before the Surf Camp we ask about each participant's experience and monitor waves, wind and tides to prepare groups, schedules and surf spots. If conditions change, we may adjust the programme.

How do I get to El Palmar and how do we get around during the Surf Camp?
Transport to El Palmar is not included. Once here, we carry the surf equipment in the van and organise the group for trips to the beaches. If you need help planning your arrival, message us on WhatsApp.

Is insurance included?
Yes. Accident insurance during the activities is included.

What happens if it is windy or conditions do not allow surfing?
Surfing depends on nature, and wind, swell, tides and weather are part of any surf trip. A Surfcamp is a scheduled multi-day experience combining accommodation, group life and different activities, so an unfavourable forecast or the inability to run one or more surf sessions does not in itself mean that the Surfcamp is cancelled or automatically entitle the participant to a refund.

We follow the conditions closely and adapt the programme to make the best possible use of each day. If it is not safe to enter the water, we will not run the surf session and may reorganise the programme with activities related to the experience, such as Surfskate, video analysis, surf technique and theory, ocean reading, surf-specific training, mobility, physical preparation or other group activities. We will always try to use any suitable surfing window, but we cannot guarantee that every planned session or a fixed number of hours in the water can take place when natural conditions prevent it.

Cancelling or adapting one activity does not mean cancelling the whole Surfcamp. Decisions about water activities are made by Carving Social Club and its technical team, with group safety always the priority.
