On a wave, you have a few seconds to make a move. With a surfskate, you can repeat it over and over until you start to understand it.

We use the surfskate as a tool to work on aspects out of the water that later appear in your surfing: body position, gaze, speed generation, compression and extension, or coordination during turns.

Sessions last approximately 1 hour, and we adapt the work to your level and what makes the most sense to work on with you.

Repeating a movement changes the way you understand it

In the water, too many things happen at once: choosing the wave, paddling, positioning yourself, taking off, generating speed, and reacting to what's happening in front of you.

On land, we can remove some of those variables and focus for a while on a specific movement. We repeat it, observe what's happening, make a correction, and try again.

This possibility of repetition is what makes the surfskate an especially useful tool for working on certain movement patterns.

Surfskate applied to surfing

The classes are not designed as a skate session or a succession of tricks. The starting point is surfing, and we use the surfskate when it allows us to better understand how the body moves on a board.

Depending on your level, we can work on:

  • Position and balance: how to position yourself on the board and better organize your body.
  • Gaze and coordination: relationship between head, shoulders, hips, and legs during movement.
  • Compression and extension: understanding how to use the body to generate and control movement.
  • Speed generation: working on pumping and the use of the whole body.
  • Turns: practicing patterns related to bottom turns, top turns, and cutbacks.

We are not looking for a movement performed on land to automatically transfer to the water. We want you to be able to understand it, feel it, and have a clearer reference when you go surfing again.

An hour focused on what you need

Each class lasts approximately 1 hour. At the beginning, we observe your level and, from there, decide where to focus our attention.

You can start from scratch with a surfskate or use the session as a complement if you already surf and want to work on something specific out of the water.

Classes are held in El Palmar de Vejer and are available all year round, with schedules adapted to the season.

No need to wait for the sea to cooperate

The surfskate allows you to continue working even if the conditions are not suitable for getting in the water that day. You can also use it before or after surfing to better understand a movement you are trying to incorporate into your sessions.

That's why it's also part of the work we do in our Surfcamps and Technification programs.

One class or several: you decide

You can book a single session or choose 2 or 3 classes if you want to continue the work. Repeating the session allows you to practice the movements again, introduce new corrections, and check what is starting to change.

You can also share the class with one or two more people. We work with a maximum of 3 people per instructor to maintain a close format and be able to work with each participant.

Select the number of classes and the number of people in the drop-down menus above. The corresponding price will appear automatically before adding the reservation to the cart.

Then take it to the water

If you are in El Palmar to surf, you can combine surfskate with our surf lessons or, if you are already independent, with our Technification classes.

This way you can work on a movement out of the water and then return to the sea with a clearer reference of what you are trying to do.
