There are weekends where you barely remember Monday, and others where, by Sunday, it feels like you've been away much longer. From Friday to Sunday, we pack in surfing, learning, time at the Surfhouse, and shared moments with a group that often didn't know each other just hours before.
It doesn't matter if you've never surfed or if you can already catch waves on your own. We separate groups by skill level so that each person can work from where they are.
And if you come alone, that's completely normal. Many of our participants arrive that way on Friday and end up sharing the water, meals, and a good part of the weekend with people they've just met.
Friday is already part of the Surfcamp
When you arrive at the Surfhouse, we meet the group, present the program, and do an ice-breaker activity. We also check the sea forecast together and explain why we've chosen the session times.
We don't wait until Friday to decide what we're doing. We've been monitoring the sea and preparing the weekend for days, although we leave room to adjust schedules if the situation changes.
Surf from your current level
If you've never surfed, we start from scratch. If you've already had some lessons, we continue building autonomy. And if you're able to catch waves on your own, we can focus more on what you're doing on the board.
You don't need to reach a specific level to come. The important thing is to place each person in a group where the sessions make sense for their experience.
If you already surf independently and are looking for much more specific work on your surfing, our Technification Surfcamp might be a better fit for you.
What happens in one session helps the next
During classes, we record some waves so we can later see things that are difficult to perceive in the water. Video analysis allows us to connect what you felt on the board with what actually happened.
We also use the surfskate when it can help us practice a position or movement on land before returning to the sea.
These are not extra activities to fill the program. They are tools that connect one session with the next.
And then there's Free Surf
When the sea cooperates, we try to get back in the water together, often in the late afternoon. The dynamic changes then: no exercises, analysis, or corrections.
Instructors and participants share the session, find a spot that suits the group, and simply surf. After having been focused on learning during classes, there also needs to be a moment to forget all that.
The Surfhouse does the rest
Between sessions, there's time for breakfast, rest, talking about the waves, and spending time with the group. We don't try to fill every hour of the weekend.
On Saturday night, we prepare the barbecue included for guests. By then, there have been enough waves, falls, conversations, and shared moments to make the atmosphere very different from when you arrived on Friday.
From Friday to Sunday, a lot can happen
A Carving Weekend isn't about fitting a week's worth of activities into two days. The idea is different: to give structure to your time so you can surf, learn, and still have space to enjoy being in El Palmar.
If you want to spend more days, you can check our Holiday and Long Weekend Surfcamps. And if you're not sure which format suits you best, write to us using the WhatsApp button on the website and we'll help you choose.

After booking
Approximately one week before the Surf Camp, we create a WhatsApp group. We ask you about your experience in the water, share the schedule, and start organizing groups by skill level.

The schedule may be adjusted if the sea conditions change, but by the time you arrive on Friday, a good part of the weekend is already planned.
