This Surfcamp is designed for surfers who are already self-sufficient in the water and want to work more specifically on their surfing. For several days, we combine sessions in the sea, video analysis, surfskate, technical work, and time to better understand what you are doing on the board and why.
Miguel Rodríguez directs the technical part of the program. After more than 15 years as a coach and a career linked to competition, his work focuses on observing each surfer and finding what they need to change to keep progressing.
It's not about surfing more, but about better understanding what you do
Before getting in the water, we define what we want to observe and work on. During the sessions, we analyze aspects such as position, wave selection, line, speed generation, and maneuver execution according to each participant's level.
Then we revisit these situations through video analysis. Watching a wave from the outside allows you to detect things that often go unnoticed while you're surfing and turn a feeling into something concrete to work on in the next session.
Surfskate also has a function
When a movement needs to be repeated out of the water, we use the surfskate as a training tool.
We don't seek to automatically transfer movements from the asphalt to the sea. We use it to isolate positions, trajectories, or gestures and be able to repeat them with more time before trying them again on a wave.
Better reading the sea is also part of the technique
Technical training doesn't just mean working on what happens once you're standing.
During the Surfcamp, we dedicate time to discussing sea reading, wave selection, positioning, and strategy, because often a better decision before catching the wave completely changes what you can do on it afterward.
Train, surf, and recover
Several consecutive days of surfing also require taking care of what happens between sessions. We incorporate physical work, mobility, stretching, and recovery to maintain the quality of the training throughout the Surfcamp.
The Surfhouse functions as our base during those days: there we rest between sessions, do part of the off-water work, review images, and share the meals included in each edition.
Who is this Surfcamp for?
You need to have basic self-sufficiency in the water: paddling on your own, safely entering and exiting, and being able to catch waves in both directions.
You don't need to compete or have an advanced level. The important thing is to have passed the initial learning phase and want to work more specifically on your surfing.
If you're still starting out or need help catching your first waves, our Weekend Surfcamp is probably a better fit for you.
