An Afternoon of Surfing in Madrid

Thank you to everyone who came last Sunday to our Surfskate Afternoon by Carving Social Club.

For a few hours, the Paseo de Camoens in Parque del Oeste became our little beach in Madrid.

There were people sitting and chatting about surfing and people carving line after line. Conversations about maneuvers, trips, boards, experiences, and tricks between surfers and people who were trying surfskating for the first time.

As lovers of promoting surfing and board sports both on and off the water, few things please us more than seeing someone's face when they try one of these boards for the first time and begin to understand the sensations it allows them to experience.

Boards to try and share

During the afternoon we brought different boards so that anyone could try them and compare sensations.

Among them were models from Smoothstar, Slide, Carver, Emil Boards, RipCore, Sector 9, and Loaded, as well as other boards that we regularly used in our meetups.

From four in the afternoon until nightfall

One of the things that most surprised those who didn't know us yet was realizing that the boards were there to be shared.

That was precisely the idea: to turn a little piece of Madrid for a few hours into a meeting point for people who love surfing, whether they had been skating for years or had never set foot on a surfskate.

We started around four in the afternoon and continued almost non-stop until nine.

In the end, we had to pack up because it got dark and there were still people skating.

After an afternoon like that, it's clear we'll meet again soon.

We want to continue creating spaces where people can meet, try boards, exchange ideas, and maintain that connection with surfing even if we are hundreds of kilometers from the sea.
