Not everyone who gets in the water needs the same type of lesson. It might be your first time on a board, you might already have a few lessons behind you and want to become more independent, or you might have been surfing for a while and want to work on something more specific.
At Carving Social Club, we organize surf lessons in El Palmar for different stages of learning: group lessons, private lessons, and Surf Coaching. We also use surfskate as a training tool out of the water.
Which lesson is right for you?
Group Surf Lessons
If you're just starting out or have already had a few lessons and want to continue building confidence and becoming more independent in the water, this is probably your best option.
We organize groups according to the participants' experience so you can learn from your current level.

Private Surf Lessons
If you're looking for more personalized attention, private lessons can be arranged for one person or for small groups with a similar skill level.
It can be your first time in the water or a way to focus more closely on the areas you want to improve.

Surf Coaching
If you're already comfortable surfing independently and want to better understand your surfing, Surf Coaching allows us to work more specifically on the areas that matter most to you.
With Miguel Rodríguez, we analyze what's happening on the board and where it makes sense to focus: body position, speed, turns, wave reading, wave selection, and decision-making.

Surfskate Lessons
Out of the water, we can isolate certain movements, repeat them, and understand them without having to wait for the next wave.
We use surfskate to work on aspects such as body position, coordination, speed generation, compression and extension, and movement patterns related to turns.

Surf lessons all year round
From September to May, we organize lessons from our Surfhouse, located about 900 metres from El Palmar beach. We have parking, showers, and space to prepare the sessions and work out of the water when useful. From there, we head to the surf spot that best suits the conditions and the group's level.
In June, July, and August, we work with partner surf schools located directly by the beach and adapt the lessons to the conditions and the way El Palmar operates during the summer season.
The sea shapes every session
A surf lesson does not simply take place at the same fixed time regardless of the conditions. We take swell, wind, and tides into account to choose the best time and the most suitable surf spot for the group's level.
If conditions change, we can adjust the time, move to another area, or reschedule the session when necessary.
Looking for more than one lesson?
If you'd rather spend several days focused on surfing, take a look at our Surf Camps in El Palmar. And if you already surf independently and want to work more specifically on your surfing, we also organize a Surf Coaching Camp with Miguel Rodríguez.
